Jones’ vision started long before his pizza bar became a reality. While in college, he realized that Detroit needed quality housing and good jobs for its residents. His first step was clear: residents needed the necessary training and skills to become a part of Detroit’s new workforce and help with construction. 在12bet官方的支持下 有色人种企业家基金, Jones and his partner launched the Detroit Training Center (DTC) to provide vocational training and certifications to local residents.  

The work would require partnerships with local government and community leaders. “We worked closely with the city and state to create residential builders’ programs—homeowner workshops—anything to teach people to acquire and rehab property,琼斯解释道.

The idea for the 底特律披萨店 came after Marcus saw a request for proposals to redevelop a long-abandoned 6,000-square-foot commercial space in the McNichols neighborhood.

The new restaurant is now a workforce engine that Jones sees as critical to rebuilding lives and communities.
